I believe that the oddest gift I ever received was one the woods I guard gave to me.
No one enters these woods until the woods themselves allow it, yet one day they opened their impenetrable circle to let in a barefoot stranger in a fancy shirt, a man from another time and place.
The woods had promised me I would love again and the woods brought to me this gift, this strange, crazy man.
I'd never loved a man before I met him, but somehow the woods knew we were meant for each other across time and space and decided I deserved this gift.
An odd gift, but a precious one, and one that keeps renewing itself each time the woods let me bring my lover back to me, here, among their trees.
